About the Doctors

Dr. Troy Okunami

Dr. Troy Okunami completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Hawaii in 1996 before moving on to complete dental school at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Illinois – Chicago before coming to Washington to practice. Dr. Okunami is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association and the Kitsap County Dental Society.

When he’s away from the office, Dr. Okunami enjoys hiking, fishing, soccer, baseball and spending time with his wife, Laura, and their yellow lab, Chiqui.

Dr. Elizabeth Sheldon

Dr. Elizabeth Sheldon completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. After working as a researcher at a biotechnology firm in Seattle, she attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center and received her dental degree. Dr. Sheldon worked as a general dentist in Madison, Wisconsin for three years before completing her specialty degree in orthodontics, also at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Sheldon is an active member of numerous national and local dental and orthodontic societies.

When she is not in the office, Dr. Sheldon enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, their young toddler Finn, and their two corgis.
